My family and I are reqular supporters to The Salvation Army in Bt Timah. We not only donate our preloved items to SA we also purchased quite a few pieces of furnitures there too. Today i am so shocked and disappointed with the counter staff after puchased some quite heavy items fm 2nd level. She said she has to charge me $0.10 if I want a bag. Cash Coverters didn't even charge for the bags. Will be my last to SALVATION ARMY
Was there this morning to drop off about 4 bags of stuff, including a bag of crockery and plates. There was a staff loading the bins to a truck. As I approached, he gestured me to lift my big, heavy bag to put into the large bin, without offering any help. He was rude and curt. I saw him mishandling the fragile items and I told him he should handle these fragile items with greater care, or else they would be broken even before being sorted out! Not a pleasant experience. I hope salvation army will train your external facing staff or vendors on some basic courtesy and manners.
Woke up and just felt like visiting this second hand store. Glad I did! Took Downtown Line and exited Hillview MRT and voilà! It's right there. Entered the store and was very surprised at how organized and clean it was. They had everything from lovely dresses to blue jeans to jewelry, shoes, household goods and more. What a fun place to browse! I found several pairs of shoes in like new condition but had to narrow it down. When I got to the register the cashier explained that today was buy one get one free on the shoes. My lucky day! Next time I visit this shop I will have to bring a bigger bag, I decided. Lots of bargains here...especially if you are into crafts or repurposing items like I am. Love this place!

Collection of donation as well as second hand items. Drop off point just near the parking area. Fast tidy orderly services. Conveniently located at neighbourhood of Hillview MRT Downtown Line Station next to Trinity Theological College Bukit Panjang Methodist Church and The Rail Mall with Cold Storage supermarket and plenty of dinning shopping banking entertainments groceries sundries postage services and amenities nearby. friendly cosy comfy welcoming ambience for romantic intimates groups students expats locals visitors and families.
Quite convenient for donation as you just have to drop things at the point. It is right next to bus stop and mrt station so the location is quite friendly for those who do not have a car.
Easy to locate and good that they accept preowned things so that we know these items can be reused
I am stunned, I saw a zara jacket with a pen ink STAIN on it listed for 120$ here. Shocking, that a thrift shop with second hand items donated for free would ever charge so much. What is happening....the original jacket itself brand new costs less? Some of the winter jackets are listed at around 80$++, seems way too high.
Some of the staff are very friendly however, they still remember us from years ago. The furniture items at the lower level are priced very fairly! Some unique pieces to be found. I dont recommended the upper level though
